Dell - Lodz

About 9 months ago there was a lot of news about new Dell factory in Lodz, and shifting part of production and staff from Limerick to Lodz. It seems that Dell factory is being build quite fast, since for last 2 months on some Polish in Ireland forums I have noticed some questions from Irish technicians who were going to work in Lodz in new Dell branch. Meanwhile, at present in Lodz there is plenty of advertisements of Dell. The factory is looking for workers. Some of newly employed people were sent to Ireland for some training and to learn how to put together laptops or desktops. Here is one of the adverts: we are looking for employees in the production department (…) experience is not required.

I wish them good luck, both Dell and new employees in the new factory in my home city.

Thanks for your post. It’s hard to believe, just nine months ago we announced the Dell manufacturing facility in Łódz and already it site shows signs of life and is on schedule for completion. We look forward to making and shipping computers from Łódź this autumn.

As you may have seen from the original announcement (http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/emea/corporate/pressoffice/2006/uk/en/2006_09_18_brk_000?c=uk&l=en&s=corp) the decision to build a second factory in Europe was made to increase our capacity and shorten delivery time to customers in Central, Nordic and Eastern Europe, as these are growing markets. Our current manufacturing facility in Limerick will continue to play a key role in our overall EMEA operations.

We are now recruiting for our new facility - we have already hired 400 people and this number is increasing every month. Right now we are hiring the first group of folks and a further 400 will follow after that. What‘s more, we now have all units installed and we have started testing the new production line.

Hope that any of your readers who are interested in employment in Dell Poland might take the time to visit our recruitment site (http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/topics/global.aspx/corp/careers/jobsearch/default?c=pl&l=pl&s=corp), (or as you can see on the advert by telephone locally - 0801 500 500).

Thanks for posting the advert, Krystian and for the wishes of good luck in your home town.

Kerry, no problem, you are welcomed. It is just a good opportunity for all the residents of Lodz, and I hope that new Dell factory will also help in development of small sub-contractor companies in the area. While I am in Lodz (for next 10 days) I will go to see the new factory in Lodz - Olechow (actually northern suburbs of Lodz).
