Oh yeah.. are you an another bigot (with inferiority complex which is typical for some of the former emigrants) who can't stand any critic opinion about his own country? Search other blogs, or even comments on my own... will you say the same to many Irish people who complaing as well on Irish banking? Should they leave the country as well?

Ireland is not a heaven on earth. It is reach country with many opportunities, but also is not as well developed as many poorer countries including Poland. The lack of developement and also... which can be sad and hard to accept... lack of will to change it or to do something outstanidng in minds of many natives makes Ireland perfect place to start with own business, especially for foreigners.

My complaining is an effort to change that what is bad.

and don't blame Poles for lack of development in your own country.

We are in EU and we are equal. I pay my taxes here so I can complain on the services.

Is mise.

Bank of Ireland have polish staff to help polish people who can't speak good english !, now I lived in many diffrent countries and i never had that kind of service. Ireland opened its doors to you people and have done more that any nation on earth to make you feel welcome and you throw it back in their face with petite complaints. You should be happy you have money in a bank not like the Irish people who's jobs were given to eastren european,s. If the service is'nt good enough- go on home !

While AIB are not perfect (they lost my credit card applicaiton also) they seem to be the best at the moment. In general with banking the trick is to go to the branch as little as possible and do everything via online banking or post form directly to departments. As for your cheque the answer is they shouldn't have cashe the cheque on the first week at all, it is worse in BOI sometimes they won't even LODGE a cheque at the counter, and insist on using the express lodgement box, but you can get around that by getting a lodgement book. Indeed I suggest you get a lodgement book it seems to command more respect from the counter.

Oh dear. I have recently moved to Ireland and am trying to choose a bank. I really would like something that has decent internet banking services, especially for international transfers. How can it even be possible in the year 2007 for a bank NOT to have a fully functional net services?
