I think the ESB were thinking about how easy it would be to get a big oil tanker as close to power station then scenery
Still many people would regard Poolbeg power station as an important element of the Dublin skyline.

The lighthouse on your picture is not Howth Lighthouse (it is in Howth Harbour), but Baily Lighthouse futher out on Howth Head.
I was there a few weeks ago and found it to be a lovely place.
